Mensun Bound visits Tom Crean’s

We are blessed up at the brewery to receive many visitors and VIP’s. This summer during a busy brew day Mensun and his his lovely wife Joanna paid us an impromptu visit. Over the years we had been enthralled by Mensun’s exploits searching for the final seabed resting location of Shackleton’s Endurance. We had tried to catch up with him at the Shackleton Weekend in Athy in 2022. Sadly it was difficult to meet the “man of the moment” with many enthusiasts wanting time with this great modern day ocean archaeologist.

However, we had time to chat and have a brew in the warm sunshine of Kenmare. He is such a charming gentleman but I’d imagine a steely resolve underlies his quiet, pleasant persona. Thanks so much much for taking the trouble during a very busy schedule to swing by the brewery for a chin wag. We’ll no doubt cross paths in the future, can’t wait!
