“Where every beer tells a story”
Expedition Ale
The beer used by Aileen to launch the RV Tom Crean, as sad as it is to spill a drop it was incredible to honour Tom in launching this proud research vessel.
Our original beer first contract brewed in 2015, now modified into a different ale pushing a balanced malty sweetness, with chocolate malts giving rich colour to complement our combination of American and European hops. The beer is named after Tom’s three Antarctic expeditions and our 2016 Centenary expedition to South Georgia. See the shop and the book “Honouring Tom Crean”
Six Magpies Stout
Our award winning stout. Awarded Gold in the stout category of the Blas na h-Éireann 2022 and Bronze in 2023
A combination of 6 grain types, but that’s not where the name comes from! A traditional Irish stout, triple hopped and reminiscent of stouts before the addition of nitrogen. Subtle hop presence, perfect mouthfeel and classic combination of grains.
Scurvy Dog IPA
A session IPA known to convert wine drinkers to beer drinkers! Crisp and light with a refreshing after taste, not over bittered, relying on the aroma hops to do all the work.
Druids Wheat Beer
A beer that gives acknowledgement to out rich local ancient history, we used delicately smoked oak malted barley, the reduced hop bill allows the full wheat and yeast flavours to dominate.
St.Brigid’s Irish Lager
Another winner at the Blas na h-Éireann awards, coming bronze in the lager category.
Our salute to an accomplished medieval brewer. Rich golden colour, German malts with hops from Slovenia. We allow six weeks to bring this classic to perfection. St.Brigid is known in Ireland for her saintly status, her feast day (1st Feb) and her cross made from reeds, less know for being a fine Irish brewer.
Killowen Kӧlsch Lager
A delicious Kӧlsch style lager. Combination of lager malts, Bavarian hops, ale yeast and a lagering rest to condition, this tasty local Kenmare brew has proved to be a very popular addition to our range of beers.
Kerry Surf & Turf
A traditional ale with a real taste of Kerry, fusing the majestic mountain landscape and the crashing Atlantic surf, we infuse a combination of seaweed and peaty turf flavour to give a taste of ancient Kerry.
Last Man Standing
Rich combination of four different types of malted barley and an unconventional brewing process produce a refreshing alcohol free beer. Pleasant mouth feel and body. Alcohol free beers may contain up to 0.5% alcohol.
Corner Boys
A mouthwateringly juicy watermelon pale ale (say that four times fast!) Bursting with tropical flavours and plenty of hops, it’s bottled at a sessionable 4.2%. Perfect for quenching your thirst on a hot summer’s day. Giving the Corner Boys something to talk about.
